About us

Beth Emet Messianic Synagogue is an affiliate of the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina and a member congregation of the Southern Baptist Messianic Fellowship.  Our statement of faith is the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (see link below).  We are comprised of Jewish and Gentile believers in Yeshua (Jesus), practicing our faith in traditional Jewish ways, similar to the original Messianic Jews and early Christians from the first century A.D.  The early believers in the church were mostly Jews and at the time of its conception, the early Church was a sect of the Judaism of its day.  Through centuries of persecution and purposeful removal of anything Jewish from our faith, the seedlings of anti-Semitism set in, creating a divide between Christianity and Judaism that has widened up til today.  It is our purpose to worship in the traditions of the original early Church, building bridges between Christianity and Judaism in the hopes of repairing damaged relationships between the two groups, educating the Church in her Jewish roots of the faith, and sharing the truth of Messiah with non-believing Jews in a manner that demonstrates that one need not surrender his or her Jewish identity in order to believe in Yeshua (Jesus).  Won't you help us to accomplish this task?
